This manual applies to all members of New Life Circles, including but not limited to those who participate in meetings, retreats, workshops, and other events hosted by the community. We are committed to upholding the values outlined in this manual, including community, respect, self-empowerment, authenticity, integrity, diversity and inclusion, compassion, consent, respectful communication, safety, code of conduct, grievance policy, personal and community boundaries, conflict resolution, self-care, and personal and community growth.

By committing to these values and policies, we can create a community that promotes personal growth, well-being, and mutual support. We encourage all members to read and understand this manual and to actively participate in creating a culture of respect and inclusion within our community.

X. Grievance Policy

At New Life Circles, we recognize that conflicts and disagreements can arise within any community. We believe in promoting open and honest communication, active listening, and empathy as a means to prevent and resolve conflicts. However, in the event that a grievance arises, we have established the following grievance policy:

Guidelines:

  1. Any member who has a grievance or concern is encouraged to speak directly with the person involved, in a respectful and constructive manner.
  2. If a member is uncomfortable or unable to address the issue directly, they may bring their concerns to a designated community leader, mentor, or counselor.
  3. The designated community leader, mentor, or counselor will work with the involved parties to identify and address the issue, in a fair and unbiased manner.
  4. If the issue is not resolved through direct communication or with the assistance of a community leader, mentor, or counselor, the matter may be brought to the attention of the NLC leadership team.
  5. The NLC leadership team will review the matter and work with the involved parties to reach a resolution, in a fair and impartial manner.
  6. In the event that a grievance involves a violation of the NLC Code of Conduct, the matter will be addressed in accordance with the Code of Conduct policy.

XI. Safety

Therefore, we have established the following guidelines and policies to ensure a safe and secure community for everyone:

  1. Zero Tolerance for Violence: NLC has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of violence or aggressive behavior. Any member who engages in such behavior will be immediately removed from the community.
  2. Boundaries: Members are encouraged to establish and communicate their personal boundaries with each other. We respect and uphold each other’s boundaries, and any violation of those boundaries is taken seriously.
  3. Reporting Concerns: Members are encouraged to report any concerns related to safety or security to the appropriate channels, such as community leaders or designated safety officers. All concerns will be taken seriously, and appropriate action will be taken to address the issue.
  4. Confidentiality: NLC values the privacy and confidentiality of its members. All members are expected to respect each other’s confidentiality and refrain from sharing personal information without consent.
  5. Physical Safety: NLC takes the physical safety of its members seriously. We take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our members during meetings, events, and retreats.
  6. Emotional Safety: Emotional safety is just as important as physical safety at NLC. Members are encouraged to support each other with compassion and empathy, and any form of emotional abuse or manipulation is not tolerated.
